About Barn Music Series

Born out of the urgency of needing music in our collective pause during the pandemic, the former director of Carbondale Arts, Amy Kimberly, invited MinTze Wu to join forces in creating the Garden Music Series in 2021. Designed to celebrate the rich diversity of artistic styles and cultural backgrounds in our place and our time, the Garden Music Series quickly became a staple of Carbondale's cultural life. Over the next three years, the Garden Music Series brought a total of 12 exhilarating concert experiences to both indoor and outdoor venues. These concerts strived to find the intimate connection between music and nature, between soul and beauty, between challenges and joy. Musicians both locally and nationally gathered to explore a full spectrum of musical styles and expressions, offering the community the highest caliber of creativity.

In 2024, with Carbondale Arts continuing as an anchoring sponsor, the Garden Music Series became the Barn Music Series, taking place at the idyllic setting of the Old Thompson Barn at the picturesque River Valley Ranch. The Barn Music Series is committed to bringing the Roaring Fork Valley programs that will deeply resonate with you, delight you, and comfort you. We hope to experience with you the beauty, the tragedy, the struggles, and the hopes in life, with our hearts so open to receive and transform.
